SANTA PAULA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep 17, 2025--

This October, Sunburst Train Railbikes invites riders to celebrate the season with Southern California’s only Railbike ride to a pumpkin patch. The Railbikes to the Pumpkin Patch adventure blends fall fun with a scenic outdoor journey, making it a must-do for families, friends, and couples alike.

Guests will set off on a 2.5-hour guided ride aboard two-person, pedal-powered (and electric-assisted) Railbikes, traveling 10 miles roundtrip through Ventura County’s citrus and avocado groves. The highlight of the trip is a festive stop at Prancer’s Farm’s Pumpkin Patch, where every rider can pick out the perfect Jack-O’-Lantern to take home.

At the farm, the fall festivities continue with a winding corn maze, spooky hayride, petting zoo, seasonal food vendors, and more. Picnic lunches are available for purchase with multiple options to choose from along with Charcuterie Packs as well. Best of all, entrance to the pumpkin patch is included with every Railbike ticket.

“There’s nothing else like it in Southern California,” said Nicholas Martinez, Railbike Manager at Sunburst Train Railbikes. “Pedaling through orchards and rolling right up to a pumpkin patch is a one-of-a-kind fall adventure that’s perfect for creating lasting memories.”

With departures every weekend in October, tickets are limited and expected to sell quickly. Reserve your adventure today at:Railbikes To The Pumpkin Patch

Sierra Northern Railway was formed in 2003 through the merger of two Northern California shortline railroads: the Sierra Railroad Company and the Yolo Shortline Railroad. The company became the contract operator of the Santa Paula Branch Line in 2022. The Santa Paula Branch Line was originally constructed as a standard-gauge railroad by the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1887. The track was used extensively by Southern Pacific as late as the 1950s to haul citrus from packing houses to communities along the Santa Clara River. The line was purchased from Southern Pacific Railroad by the Ventura County Transportation Commission in 1995 and rented for many years to the Fillmore and Western Railway, which hosted excursion trains and film shoots. Today, Sierra Northern Railway’s sister company, Mendocino Railway, is running the Sunburst Railbike operation .
