SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 16, 2025--

At Vision 2025, Degreed, the AI-powered learning platform for workforce transformation, unveiled its next generation of learning innovations. Designed to help organizations build capabilities at the speed of change, Degreed’s new advancements deliver more personalized, measurable, and cost-effective workforce development experiences.

“AI is making people more efficient, but not necessarily more skilled. What matters isn’t just access to information but systems that connect learning to skills, roles, and outcomes,” said David Blake, Co-Founder and CEO of Degreed. “That’s the real challenge. So we’re building new tools like role-playing and learning simulations using AI that automatically map learning to skill proficiency, levels and roles. We are also building agentic development experiences that deliver Degreed’s capabilities via MCP through general purpose AI tools like Microsoft Copilot.”

Announcing the Next Wave of Adaptive Learning

At Vision 2025, Degreed launched a number of advancements, including:

  • Adaptive Exercises – Powered by Degreed Maestro, these AI-generated knowledge checks and quizzes adapt to each learner’s skill level, ensuring faster skill retention and targeted practice.
  • Skill Proficiency-Level Tagging and Role Mapping – A market-first capability that tags learning content to proficiency levels and connects it to role expectations. This enables employees to skip what they already know, focus on the gaps that matter most, and deliver content at the right proficiency level to close gaps.
  • Degreed Open Library Expansion – A free, built-in library of 350+ AI-generated pathways, refreshed every six months, to give companies a cost-effective alternative to little-used generic content libraries. Degreed Open Library now includes language bundles in Portuguese, Spanish, French, and German, and pathways aligned to high-growth industries, including Healthcare, Manufacturing, Finance, Telecom, Professional Services, and more.
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server – A secure, enterprise-ready framework that delivers skills, role, and learning context into any AI system in real time—turning disconnected AI into intelligent, integrated workflows.
  • AI-Powered Content Generation – Degreed will soon enable organizations to generate dynamic, personalized courses and content, instantly tailored to your workforce goals and strategies.

Degreed Maestro: AI Purpose-Built for Learning

At the center of Degreed’s innovations is Degreed Maestro. Unlike general-purpose AI tools, Maestro is purpose-built for learning and powers adaptive role-play, coaching, quizzes, and real-time skill feedback that is personalized to each employee’s skills, role, and goals.

“We built Maestro to be flexible, scalable, and deeply connected to outcomes,” said Nicole Helmer, Chief Product Officer at Degreed. “This isn’t AI bolted onto learning systems. It’s AI designed for learning itself. Maestro guides people with real-time practice and feedback, turning AI into a driver of capability and workforce readiness.”

But AI alone isn’t enough. Delivering personalized learning requires context about skills, roles, and business priorities, as well as content. That’s where Degreed’s new Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server comes in.

“AI without context is like a map without GPS,” said Sanjay Parmar, Chief Technology Officer at Degreed. “It may look useful, but it can’t guide you where you need to go from where you are. With MCP, Degreed turns the GPS on for enterprise learning, bringing in skills, roles, and goals so AI adapts to each person and every business priority in real time.”

For HR and IT leaders under pressure to do more with less, Degreed’s adaptive platform delivers tangible results: faster upskilling, reduced redundancy, and clearer ROI on learning investments.
