Dolphins optimistic Tua will face Jets despite sore thumb

MIAMI (AP) — Tua Tagovailoa’s sore thumb has improved, and Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores is expressing optimism his rookie quarterback will be able to play Sunday against the New York Jets. Tagovailoa hurt the thumb on his throwing hand in practice and was limited in practice Thursday for the second day in a row. Flores says it's not something the Dolphins are too worried about. Offensive lineman Jesse Davis was activated off the reserve-COVID-19 list. Davis went on the list Monday. He has started the past 52 games for the Dolphins.
