LANGHORNE, Pa. — As the number of cremations continue to rise among Americans, so too are the number of people whose ashes are forgotten or abandoned. Remains of the unclaimed dead often end up in coroner’s offices and funeral homes. But then there are the ashes that, for one reason or another, wind up among the living. Strangers often take on the role of stewards for these remains.
