Man killed by falling tree branch on son’s property



NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a man was struck and killed by a falling tree branch in eastern Pennsylvania.

The Lehigh County coroner’s office says 68-year-old Mark Garvey was cutting a tree on his son’s property in New Tripoli when he was struck by the branch at about 10 a.m. Friday.

Officials said the Alburtis resident was pronounced dead shortly after 12:30 p.m. Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.

The cause of death was attributed to blunt force trauma to the head, and the death was ruled accidental.
