6 adults, children injured in reported home explosion, fire

WEST BRANDYWINE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say six people were injured in a reported explosion and fire at a house in southeastern Pennsylvania. Chester County emergency officials said crews were called to the West Brandywine Township home shortly before noon Wednesday. TV news helicopter footage showed heavy smoke coming from the large home as fire crews sprayed water from several directions onto the main building and several additions. Emergency officials said six people were reported injured and three were flown by helicopter to a hospital. WPVI-TV reports that four of the injured were children. Two others were taken to a hospital by ambulance and one refused treatment.
