HANOVER, Pa. — At a glance, Sam Zimmerman appears no different than the average teenager. You might not notice that one of his eyebrows doesn't seem to move or see the faint indentations that run down the right side of his forehead. And you certainly wouldn't know that eight years ago he battled against a rare brain infection that doctors said should have killed him.
