Census workers thought it would be a fun job; it wasn’t

YORK, Pa. — Julie Reineberg thought working on the census would be an adventure, and it was -- but not how she thought it would be. She signed on as a Census enumerator, one of the people who goes door-to-door to collect and confirm information for the decennial count of the nation’s population, as prescribed by the Constitution. But as she went door-to-door, she faced hostility and anger and distrust from people she was charged with counting.
