PITTSBURGH (AP) _ Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies Corp. (WAB) on Friday reported second-quarter earnings of $166 million.

On a per-share basis, the Pittsburgh-based company said it had profit of 91 cents. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and restructuring costs, came to $1.23 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.22 per share.

The maker of parts for locomotives, subways and buses posted revenue of $2.05 billion in the period, missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.08 billion.

Wabtec expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.70 to $5 per share, with revenue in the range of $8.3 billion to $8.6 billion.
