“Everything we do starts with people, and Colt McCoy is the ideal leader,” said Hunter Lee, HPI Partner and Senior Managing Director. “I’ve never met anyone more ‘as advertised’ than Colt – as a person, as a father, and as a man of faith. He’s honest, community-minded, and wants to make an impact in planting the HPI flag in Fort Worth.”

McCoy has been a friend of HPI for years, as his brother, Case, is a partner with HPI’s Tenant Advisory platform.

“HPI is an established, first-class organization with nearly thirty million square feet and almost four decades of success in the Texas real estate market. The team does things the right way, every single time, and that foundation means everything to me and my family,” said McCoy. “I’ve met a lot of great people across the country through football, and now I get to cultivate those relationships in a new way with the support of HPI.”

After a storied college career and 14 years in the NFL, McCoy is excited to finally put down roots. This next chapter is a deliberate step for McCoy professionally and personally.

“It’s really the first time in my life I've been able to choose where I want to live without football dictating my homebase. As a West Texas boy at heart, it feels good to be closer to home. Fort Worth is where the Lord led us. It’s the place I want to raise my kids.”

According to Lee, Fort Worth has always been of interest to HPI but finding the right person who was committed to the community was the priority. While industrial will be the initial focus, HPI has plans to build a full-service platform in Fort Worth, from third-party leasing and management to development and acquisition.

“In order to best serve our clients, we want to leverage the success of our Austin and Dallas offices to build out Fort Worth. These markets complement one another, and we’re excited to stand with Colt as he grows this office,” said Lee.

“In football, you expect to win, and you play to win every week. It will be no different as we build out this team,” said McCoy. “If you look at any good organization or team, it comes down to finding people with common goals, passion, and a shared vision. I’ve always loved playing quarterback, and HPI is letting me do that as we build out the Fort Worth presence. Real estate has no boundaries. I’m excited about this next chapter.”

About HPI: HPI was founded in 1992 with four employees and one million square feet. Today HPI employees over 200 people in Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and now Fort Worth, serving 900 clients across almost 30 million square feet.
