Former Japanese Diplomat Launches Global Samurai Advisory in the U.S.

Global Samurai Advisory, LLC announced its launch as a boutique advisory firm supporting Japanese corporations expanding overseas. Founded by former diplomat Takashi Kawamoto, the firm positions itself as an on-the-ground partner helping executives turn strategy into action across borders.

The launch comes as Japanese firms increase investment in the United States amid shifting global supply chains and deepening U.S.–Japan economic ties. Kawamoto’s career spans diplomacy, consulting, and corporate leadership. He served as a diplomat at Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a strategy consultant at Deloitte, an officer at the United Nations in Brussels, and a director at Brunswick Group in Washington, D.C. Most recently, he was Director of Corporate Planning & M&A Strategy at Kansai Paint headquarters in Osaka, leading global transactions and corporate transformation.
