PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ FMC Corp. (FMC) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $193.1 million.

The Philadelphia-based company said it had profit of $1.52 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and to account for discontinued operations, came to $2.16 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.02 per share.

The chemical producer posted revenue of $1.41 billion in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $736.5 million, or $5.70 per share. Revenue was reported as $5.05 billion.

For the current quarter ending in April, FMC expects its per-share earnings to range from $1.50 to $1.90. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had forecast adjusted earnings per share of $1.80.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $1.22 billion to $1.34 billion for the fiscal first quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $1.29 billion.

FMC expects full-year earnings in the range of $6.80 to $8.10 per share, with revenue ranging from $5.25 billion to $5.55 billion.
