PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Comcast Corp. (CMCSA) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $3.06 billion.

On a per-share basis, the Philadelphia-based company said it had net income of 66 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 77 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 15 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 73 cents per share.

The cable provider posted revenue of $30.34 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Fourteen analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $29.57 billion.
