Alex Gendzier Joins Sycamore Tree Capital Partners as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer

Sycamore Tree Capital Partners (Sycamore Tree), a specialist asset manager with expertise in private and alternative credit investments, announced today that Alex Gendzier has joined the firm in the newly created role of General Counsel and will assume the role of Chief Compliance Officer.

Alex will be responsible for legal and compliance matters for the firm and serve as Secretary to the board of directors. With more than 30 years of experience at the intersection of business, credit, and special situations, having previously been a senior partner at major international law firms, he brings expertise to support Sycamore Tree. Since the founding of Sycamore Tree, Alex has provided legal counsel to the firm on a broad range of matters including corporate, regulatory, compliance and fund formation. Before becoming an attorney, he was a banker specializing in leveraged loans, high-yield bonds, private placements and debt restructurings.

Alex holds degrees and graduated at the top of his class from Haverford College and the NYU School of Law. Prior to law school, he worked at Bankers Trust Company, where he was promoted to VP and Team Leader at 25. In addition to his professional career, he is dedicated to supporting veterans as they transition to civilian life, the co-author of the book “ Warrior to Civilian, the Field Manual for the Hero’s Journey, ” and has served in leadership board roles for educational institutions in New York City.
