WAYNE, Pa. (AP) _ Aclaris Therapeutics Inc. (ACRS) on Thursday reported a loss of $22.8 million in its fourth quarter.

The Wayne, Pennsylvania-based company said it had a loss of 37 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 36 cents per share.

The specialty pharmaceutical company posted revenue of $1.5 million in the period, which also did not meet Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.8 million.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $90.9 million, or $1.60 per share. Revenue was reported as $6.8 million.

Aclaris shares have decreased almost 8% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 36% in the last 12 months.
