This “Let It Be” cover is unlike any you’ve ever heard. This particular rendition of The Beatles’ classic is incredibly unique, dramatically different and thoroughly enjoyable. If asked, most people would likely admit to enjoying covers, at least some of the time. Of course, our enjoyment of covers depends on how well they measure up against the original. If the cover is a total disaster and completely ruins the original, well, no one is going to have fun with that one. But if the cover is done well enough and comparable to the original, we’re more than likely to give our approval.

Another factor in determining how much or little we like a cover is how unique and different it is from the original. If the cover version is nothing more than a carbon copy of the original, then we aren’t going to be into it. We’ll just go listen to the first iteration of the song because it’s going to always be better, especially in those cases.

However, in a clip posted on YouTube, vocalists take a very different route with their cover of “Let It Be.” Their rendition of the song known and beloved by many is done in a way that you have never heard before. That’s because it’s done in the style of Renaissance madrigal, a type of musical composition that was popular way back in the 16th and 17th centuries.

So, yeah, it’s pretty different, but it’s also pretty fantastic. How often are you ever going to hear lyrics first performed by Paul McCartney sung in such a manner? Likely never again.

Even if this version of the tune is not your taste, you still have to appreciate the effort and the amount of talent it would take to sing this way. At least, they are doing and trying something different.

She took the American Idol stage and owned it, putting on a rocking performance. Likely, surprising to most, her voice sounds as good as ever. She sang a medley that included her own hit “Heartbreaker” and Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.” Those are two songs I never thought would go together, and they blended seamlessly, making for a most enjoyable tune.

This is a performance that you’re likely to play several times to listen to her dazzling vocal performance.

I’m pretty sure I had her CD tucked somewhere in my room, playing it on repeat like it held all the answers to growing up. Fast forward to now, and I’m listening to that same song as the sun dips low over Nebraska skies, folding laundry, navigating teenage drama, and tossing feed to the chickens—and somehow it still fits. Maybe differently… but just as beautifully.

A talented teen dazzled with a performance of “Old Time Rock and Roll” on The Voice. After his stunning rendition of the Bob Seger classic, he showed he has many musical talents. Musicians are a talented group. They have been blessed with the ability to create beautiful, captivating and enchanting sounds that everyone appreciates. Seriously, have you ever met someone who does not enjoy any kind of music? I sincerely hope not, because odds are they would be someone to avoid, likely not a very pleasant person. Not liking music would be similar to not enjoying food.

Those with the gift to create beautiful sounds are often able to do more than one thing musically. They might be able to play multiple instruments, or they may have an excellent singing voice and be a wordsmith, able to write catchy, memorable lyrics with relative ease. Of course, the point is that musicians don’t typically limit themselves to just one thing.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a 13-year-old put on a wonderful show, singing Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock and Roll.” His performance was enough to get two of the show’s three judges, with the third judge later stating how he regretted not flipping his chair around for the young musician.

The 13-year-old, as he showed during his short performance, is a natural entertainer, with his ability to get the crowd in his rendition almost immediately. However, singing is not the only talent he possesses. Following his high-energy performance, he informed the judges that he can make some rather unusual, but spot-on noises.

He can play the trumpet without actually playing it, perfectly imitating the instrument with his mouth. Additionally, his beat-boxing skills are unreal, causing all three judges’ jaws to drop at this little guy’s enormous amount of musical talent.

He added that Jake’s performance looks “effortless,” and he advised him to make it look like performing is a little hard because it’s more interesting to watch. 

And Jake completely nails that in his "The Power of Love" American Idol cover. He’s got the facial expressions down and leans into his guitar at just the right moments. The judges and fans were loving his performance. 

“The Power of Love” Was Written For Back to the Future 

“The Power of Love” was originally sung by Huey Lewis & The News in 1985. It was written for the movie, Back to the Future. Steven Spielberg had asked the band to write a song for the movie.

“Spielberg didn’t give us a brief, and I didn’t know how to write songs for films. But I said we’d send him the next thing we wrote. Which we did,” Lewis recalled. 

Lewis had very little confidence that the song would work for the movie. 

“I knew it was a good song, but I didn’t actually think it was going to work for him because it had nothing to do with the movie, ostensibly,” Lewis said. “It was actually a love song, and Marty McFly had no love interest to speak of. That wasn’t what the movie was about.”

Nonetheless, Spielberg and his team loved it, and now "The Power of Love" is being covered decades later on American Idol, and everyone still loves it.

Madison Moon knocks Kelly Clarkson's classic ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ out of the park. There’s something so refreshing—so quietly brave—about a young woman who decides she’s not here to play it safe. This incredible Elton John cover earned a 4-chair turn on The Voice Australia blind auditions. The singer, Rennie Adams, knows his stuff, no question. Play the video to see if he impresses you, too!

Rennie’s performance is so raw and talented. You can see the judges’ reactions shift from intrigue to complete amazement in just seconds.  When he finally hit that high note, each of the judges’ chairs was spun. In fact, at the end of his performance, the judges were literally fighting over him to get him on their team. I have never seen any Voice judges act so competitively. 

“Above anything, you’ve got it, man,” said Judge Kelly Rowland. “You’ve got it. From the moment you opened your mouth, I believed you. I believed that you relived this whole story of Tiny Dancer.”

His “Tiny Dancer” Was Amazing 

“...You were really amazing,” she continued. “You’re truly a remarkable talent.”

The Voice four-chair turn performance is so lovely. Some of the lyrics to his cover of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” are:

It’s a very unique song written by Elton and Bernie Taupin in 1971. Rennie does just as good a job as Elton when he sings it. The Voice four-chair turn is a simply unforgettable performance. 

Rennie has such emotional depth to his singing. He draws you into his music with every lyric and guitar stroke. It’s easy to see why the judges set him apart. He’s a natural, and he has this unassuming charm to him. 

He has a unique sincerity that you don’t hear every day. It is almost like you can see through him when he sings. He does not hold anything back. It’s like he lives and breathes the lyrics. 

This is the making of a great musician.

A boys’ choir nailed their rendition of the Beach Boys’ classic “God Only Knows.” The youngsters’ performance of a song everyone knows, and many love, was simply stunning, as the children displayed mesmerizing, spot-on harmonies. Shows like The Voice, American Idol, America’s Got Talent and its British counterpart, Britain’s Got Talent, must continue to pull in sizable audiences, despite having been on television for quite some time. Familiarity does not seem to have diminished many people’s interest in those programs, as they still tune in regularly. That has to be the case, right? They would not remain on television otherwise.

Likely the biggest reasons people still watch those shows are that they enjoy being surprised and also witnessing the magical moments those programs often produce. You know exactly what I mean by this, too. Audiences enjoy being completely captivated by a performance, which often happens when someone displays an otherworldly level of talent. The kind that makes you sit up and take notice, and ask, if that really happened, or if you were imagining it.

In a clip posted on YouTube, the judges and the studio audience were treated to one of those special, one-of-a-kind moments when a group of young boys rushed out onto the stage. After a quick back-and-forth with the judges, the music started playing and the performers began singing, and it was fantastic.

The kids demonstrated their eye-popping musical talent and skill, showing that, even at their young age, they are extremely advanced. Their harmonies are on point, so much so that it’s hard to believe that something so beautiful is coming from a group of people so young.

This is a performance that deserves to be watched a few times to appreciate the level of talent on display fully.

This mom’s “Blue Bayou” cover won a spot on The Voice, and it is not hard to see why. Drew Russell has a simply magical voice. Play the video to hear it!

After Drew gave her incredible performance, on the sideline, Drew’s mom screamed and jumped, grabbing Drew’s husband for a spinning hug when judge Adam Levine slammed his button.

The toddler mom admitted she struggled a little in the beginning of her cover on The Voice blind auditions, but her performance is still completely swoonworthy. “Blue Bayou” is one of those songs that just has to be done well, and Drew delivers.

“When I went to college, I did a couple gigs here and there,” Drew said, “but kind of put things on pause for a little while, went the corporate route. It was my way of ensuring my safety net.” And now she’s ready to follow her heart.

When Linda introduced the hit in 1977, she became the first female artist ever to have two singles in the Top 5 charts at the same time. The only other artists to do so were The Beatles. Her other hit at the time was “It’s So Easy.” The song got her nominations for Record of the Year and a Grammy. 

The Voice contestant Allison Porter also sang “Blue Bayou” for her blind audition in 2016. At the time, all four judges turned their chairs for her. 

Like Allison, Drew is a special singer with a smoky voice that you just want to keep listening to. She chose an excellent song to cover on The Voice blind auditions.

A young woman earns a spot on The Voice with Joni Mitchell's classic, and rightly so. She’s got something no one has. Watch the video to see for yourself!

The Austin-based artist, Grace Humphries, chose to sing Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” on The Voice 2026 Blind Auditions. It’s a wildly creative and abstract song that had the judges intrigued. The song perfectly suits Grace’s untamed and beautiful voice.

Some of the lyrics of Joni’s “Both Sides Now” are: 

Oh, but now old friends are acting strange
And they shake their heads, and they tell me that I've changed
Well, something's lost, but something's gained
In living every day

“Both Sides Now” is a meaningful song about wonder, love and life. Joni got the inspiration for the song while she was reading Saul Bellow’s book, “Henderson the Rain King,” on a plane ride.

“Early in the book, Henderson, the Rain King, is also up in a plane. He’s on his way to Africa and he looks down and sees these clouds,” Joni recalled. “I put down the book, looked out the window, and saw clouds too, and I immediately started writing the song. I had no idea that the song would become as popular as it did.” 

Grace Humphries Lost Her Older Brother, Liam 

When Grace was a child, her older brother, Liam, passed away from an unexpected and severe form of brain cancer.

“It was very surreal seeing your big brother always be strong [through chemo and radiation.] … Music was a unique way to process the loss.The first song I wrote was about my brother,” the 18-year-old said at The Voice 2026 blind auditions. “I know my brother would be proud that I was here.”

“Liam and Grace’s relationship was extremely tight,” Grace’s mom said through tears. “There’s a video of them pretending to be in a singing competition. I just know that he’s here right now.”

Grace did a wonderful job in her cover, and she is sure to shine in the competition.

This Irish busker stuns with a rendition of CCR's “Proud Mary.” He stands on a street path, armed only with a mic and a guitar, yet delivers a pleasantly powerful performance. It’s a unique acoustic cover that you’ll have in your head for the rest of the day. 

The busker, David Brennan, is harmoniously coordinated with his look and musical style. His pizazz and charm have people stopping in their tracks to hear him.

David has an interesting vibrato that he adds to “river” parts that I haven’t heard before. It gives the song a different feel and makes it his own. 

“Proud Mary” is one of those songs that makes everyone feel good. It’s a nod to a more peaceful life. Even if you don’t have much, sometimes it’s better than working away the joy of life. 

“Proud Mary” Was Written After John Fogerty Was Discharged From the Army 

Clearance Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty wrote the song after he was honorably discharged from the Army. 

“I was so happy, I ran out into my little patch of lawn and turned cartwheels. Then I went into my house, picked up my guitar and started strumming. ‘Left a good job in the city’ and then several good lines came out of me immediately.” he said. 

“By the time I hit ‘Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river,’ I knew I had written my best song. It vibrated inside me. When we rehearsed it, I felt like Cole Porter,” he said. 

This busker’s "Proud Mary" CCR cover honors the original song well. David has a bright singing career ahead of him.
