Logan Sekulow breaks down the news of the week, including the raid on Rep. Ilhan Omar's DC home.

Logan Sekulow: What a week we had. DHS raids the home of a sitting congresswoman and North Korea infiltrates US businesses. We'll break it all down today on Seculo.
Announcer: Keeping you informed and engaged now more than ever. This is Seculo. We want to hear from you. Share and post your comments or call 1-800-684-3110. And now your host Logan Seculo.
Logan Sekulow: Welcome to Seculo. This is Logan Seculo wrapping up your week and while wow, what a week it was. So many top stories. Obviously, a lot of you were calling in and commenting about the raid of Ilhan Omar's home in Washington DC, her Washington DC residency allegedly tied back to paperwork from her childhood immigration paperwork. We know there's been so much going on in her home state that we didn't know all the details, but we're going to break down what we know a little bit later in this show. Again, of course, a lot of you, I know more people randomly started asking me and texting me and like I feel like that any story of the week they started about this one specifically. I think we are so close to the midterm elections that they started questioning what this could mean. Could there actually be some kind of fallout? We'll have some special guests joining us a little bit later to discuss that. What does it mean for a future in terms of the political political side of all of this? Because we are so close. Now her race, I think we'll probably learn this probably won't affect it, but could it affect voters on the Democrat side or Republican side this close to the midterms? Also, the story that I shared with you just a couple of days ago, that one was wild, which was that North Korea has infiltrated US businesses in a way that you may not think, not through hacking, but through applying and successfully getting jobs, remote work throughout our country. And a lot of this comes down to hundreds and hundreds of computers, what they called laptop farms that were found in Texas that again, you had remote workers funneling money to North Korea, funding the, you know, missile test, all the stuff that goes into North Korea while successfully doing their job inside of a lot of IT related companies from small businesses to major Fortune 500 companies. And thankfully, our FBI, DHS, DOJ able to get together and stop this. But we know that this is just probably the tip of the iceberg in this. If they were able to already locate all of this, it's something we're going to break down again even further. And if you ever heard the story, you got to stay tuned because it is such an interesting one. It's probably one of the most interesting ones because it should open your mind on the way that we even deal with hiring. You're talking about people that were able to pass background checks. They had fake social media accounts. They had a fingerprint analysis, full-blown stolen identification. They were able to complete urine analysis. I mean, this is this crazy stuff that's happening. It sounds like I am creating a a movie, but this is what's happening inside. And again, that's what when things start changing, like the rise in remote workers. You may not think about that and I'd certainly didn't until reading this that this is a way that businesses, and then by businesses also by proxy, the United States of America can be infiltrated by sort of these foreign sources who are not here to do good things. And also creates a pipeline of cash to them, which I think was maybe the most important part, US dollars being able to be funneled into North Korea by these essentially fake workers who probably were doing a pretty good job at their employment. They weren't losing their jobs. It is wild. We're going to discuss that again and so much more. And I thank you all for joining us today. And thank you all for joining us all week cuz these stories, I mean, this is just that again, this is just a little bit of what we experienced this week. We had Barack Obama making his statement saying that essentially Israel is to blame for the radicalization of the countries surrounding it. It's it's a lot. With that being said though, I haven't done a lot of heavy pitches this week to say support the work of the ACLJ. But you also know we had that case in Nebraska with Andrew Coats, that homeschooler graduate wanted to be a career firefighter. We all know what happened there. We was told no, your degree doesn't qualify you. It doesn't matter that you are a EMT. Doesn't matter that you have a degree or getting a degree in fire science. You know, I 'm sure a lot of people who are being rescued from a fire are really questioning the validity of a homeschool diploma. But that is where we are in society right now. But the ACLJ is fighting back. And I 'm going to ask you in this moment to support the work of the ACLJ. If you've ever thought about it, today's a great time to do it. Go to aclj.org. Become a champion even if you can. But if not, even a one-time donation. I want to make sure our content always remains without a paywall. No paywalls here. No, you having to log in. You can share all of our content with as many people as you want, whenever you want. And that's one of the things we love about the work that we get to do. But that's because you support financially. With that, we'll be right back with more on Seculo. Don't go anywhere. We're back in just a moment.
Jay Sekulow: The challenges facing Americans are substantial. For decades now, the ACLJ has been on the front lines protecting your freedoms, defending your rights in courts, in Congress, and in the public arena. And we have an exceptional track record of success. But here's the bottom line. We could not do our work without your support. We remain committed to protecting your religious and constitutional freedoms. That remains our top priority, especially now during these challenging times. The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side. If you're already a member, thank you. Just scan the QR code on your screen or go to your phone's App Store, search ACLJ, and click install. It's that simple. Welcome back to Seculo. We are taking your phone calls at 1-800-684-3110. Certainly a lot of people in the chat right now saying, well, you reap what you sow. This is what happens. And again, we have to always remember we are dealing with someone who is an elected official. So again, I guess you got to show some respect there. But this is someone who has time after time disrespected not just the country, has come up with anti-Semitic rhetoric, has said so many things you know, flame fanning the flame of anti-Semitism around the country. And really it was one of the forefathers, if you will, of what has spread so rapidly over the next few last few years. So to say I don't have as much love lost for this one, I understand because it is one of those situations where we've heard a lot of stories. Some seem ridiculous, some are real, some maybe are preposterous, but somewhere in the middle maybe lies the truth. And there was enough evidence there for a judge to sign off of a warrant in Washington DC for a again, for a raid of a home of a sitting elected official, of a representative. And not only that, a representative that is very very prominent, a well-known figure, Ilhan Omar. The questions have been asked for months about this. And as of right now, it looks like they are still going in and out and doing this is active. As we're live right now, this is actively happening that you have the agents going in and out of her DC home. Again, we haven't heard from her. We haven't heard anything necessarily whether she is there or not. And again, this is not pleasant. I don't want to be laughing at it cuz I understand the severity of it. Wake up to to a FBI DHS raid is not something you want, the feds showing up at your front door, even if you're an elected official. This is not fun. And I'm sure for her supporters, this does feel political. Now we can go back to well, is it political? We just showed you a clip just a little bit ago from uh Marjorie Mullen. In the scenario because you see him at a what looks to be like the Republican convention kind of style was that the believe at the midterm convention it does feel joyous and boisterous and you know, it doesn't feel serious. If you just took the words if I just read you the statement, it would feel that way. Why would not feel that political. But when you see it in that moment, it's going to give people, you know, wrong vibes to what we 're talking about here. I think we need to counterbalance that a little bit with JD Vance discussing this and maybe with a little bit more nuance. JD Vance discussed this. Again, is this from earlier this year? This is earlier this year JD Vance was discussing specifically what happened with Ilhan Omar. And again, sort of the the general issue happening in Minnesota in general. So let's let's take a look. This is again back from this is from earlier this year. This is from March. Here's Vice President Vance.
JD Vance: Yeah, so we actually think that Ilhan Omar definitely committed immigration fraud against the United States of America. And I I talked to Steven Miller about this actually recently. We're trying to look at what the remedies are. That's the thing that we're trying to figure out is what are the legal remedies now that we know that she's committed immigration fraud? How do you go after her? How do you investigate her? How do you actually do the thing? How do you build the case necessary to get some some some justice for the American people? There's a related issue, Benny, which is she has been at the center of a lot of the worst fraudsters in the Somali community. So do I know that Ilhan Omar was aware that the Quality Leering Center was defrauding the American people? I 'm not certain of it, but we at least need to investigate it because if people can commit wrong doing without even the fear that they're going to be found out, that that's a fundamental problem. So I'm worried about the immigration fraud. I'm also worried about what did Ilhan Omar know about what was happening in the Somali community and why was nobody looking into it until frankly Donald Trump came along?
Logan Sekulow: Yeah, I mean again, of course, it was one of the top stories of the year has been the fraud coming out of the state of Minnesota. But that's not what this is about necessarily. Clearly there is something there's a big issue and I clearly it has to do with her immigration status which is pretty wild that you have an elected official where this is actually happening. Again, a judge signed off on this to happen. Give me a call. What do you think about this? How would you feel? Do you like that this is happening? Do you feel like this is the right time? Do you feel like it could backfire when you're just a few weeks away from a midterm? When you see someone like a Talarico starting to finally show back up and having a a bit of a bounce in his numbers, you starting to see some of the ones that were maybe more considered to be a shoe-ins, maybe getting a little closer. Is it good or does it backfire like it did when they did this to President Trump when they put President Trump and arrested him? And remember that became a national story that ended up, I believe, partially resulting in him winning at the 2020 election. What do you think about their 2024 election? Give me a call. I want to know from you. 1-800-684-3110 to be on the air today. We also are going to discuss not only that. We're going to go into in just a little bit the Houthi terrorists that were bombing the airports in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia because that is a big story. I think we all need to keep our eyes on. You know, it's one of those ones that will it'll be in our news cycle. It will be on repeat. But if you're talking about what could end up being what is truly and we may be already in it folks to be honest a World War III scenario, it's if America lines up with Saudi Arabia and says it's time to finish some things. You could see where the government of Saudi Arabia clearly can't fully be trusted, but has had had some issues here and there has tried to westernize over the last handful of years. We're going to discuss that too at length. And later on, we're going to be joined by Jeff Ballabon for ACLJ Jerusalem to even discuss that as well as it is obviously all tied back into the Holy Land. And there's even interesting things that comes out of the Houthi rebels, which to say, hey you know, it's not safe to fly into Saudi Arabia anywhere except for at our holy sites. That sure still fine to fly into. But if you're going to fly in to one of these cities, they're made you know, for tourism and for attractions and all these things. I mean, if you have a kid, a teenager you are you know, you have been indicted with so much promotion to visit Saudi Arabia. They've put so much money into Riyadh season and all of that that it is pretty shocking now to see hundreds of people injured, multiple people dead in these attacks. It should be some front page story. We're going to get to that a little bit later. But of course, again, the main story of today is this DHS raid of Ilhan Omar. And I think that we can go back to even the statement that was put out because when you look at what's going on, the statements even read today in the Washington DC area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. And again, judicially authorized mean they were presented this to a judge and a judge signed off on it. Said good to go. I think this is part of it. And look, there have been other federal raids on sitting congress people over the last 15 20 years. A lot of them had to do with very different scenarios. Uh you had Representative Jefferson, Democrat Louisiana in August. They searched his home and they recovered 900 or $90,000 and marked bills hidden food containers. You had Henry Cuellar in January 2022 as Democrat in Texas. So it's not uncommon that this is to happen. It's uncommon. It's not often, but it has happened over the last few years. It's not like it's just brand new to everybody here. But what do you think? I I'm I so many of you are watching on online right now, which I really appreciate cuz look, we're doing this show live at very special start time tonight. I wanted to sure if anyone was going to join us. So to have so many of you joining us right now, but I would love for you to call in. I would have I have segments set aside just for your voice. What do you think about this with Omar in this situation? Again, this close to the midterms. We're talking weeks now, three weeks, three and a half weeks until the midterms, if that. Maybe we can get a day count of what that how many days we actually are until the midterm elections. I mean, it's coming up, folks. And it is a big one. I know that they will print paint paint a picture for you and say, look, if the Republicans lose control that the president still the president for two and a half years. That's true. I mean, he's still the president of the United States, but it certainly makes it a lot harder. And with impeachment talk on the horizon, that makes it even much more harder. And again, not that an impeachment will lead to a removal from office. But what it will do is clog. It will clog up. It is so much work. And trust me, our team worked on it first hand. It is so much work that it is very difficult to get other things done. And it dominates the news story. And it becomes the biggest thing that's happening right now. But I'd love to hear from you as we head into this break. And again, the ACLJ work doesn't stop. I 'm going to continue talking to you about the work of the ACLJ, including your work in Minnesota even. We filed five Freedom of Information Act requests to help expose that big fraud that happened in Minnesota and demand the answers about the misuse of taxpayer dollars. Remember that was only a few months ago that we're talking about that this was going on. And it still is. It's easy to be move on from from top line news of the day. But the ACLJ team is still actively working on this. And they only get to actively work on it if you support. So I encourage you today as we start off this week strong, start it off strong with us. Go to aclj.org and become an ACLJ champion if you can even. An ACLJ champion, by the way, I know I say it a lot, but ACLJ champions, it's a small group of people in the in the big scheme of things. Most of you give one time, you know, you maybe get motivated, you give once a year or whatever it may be. And that's fine. We really do appreciate that. Know that uh the vast majority of people do, that's what you do. And and we're very thankful. But there are a select group of you who give on a monthly basis and it really means a lot because what we can do is is really start planning a little bit more ahead. Know that there is a baseline that's coming in. Now you cancel anytime. People do. We encourage you not to, but of course people do. And and you know, we know times are tough financially. If you want a great way to support this show on a free way, hit subscribe right now. If you're watching on YouTube and you never watched this before, we do this show each and every day live. Today's special start time. But you know what, there's a lot of you watching, so who knows what the future may hold. But for as of now, we do the show typically 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Eastern time. We're just doing it a little bit early today. So thank you so much. In just a minute, we will be right back and then we'll be joined the second half hour by ACLJ head of ACLJ Jerusalem, Jeff Ballabon. Don't go anywhere again. Support the work of the ACLJ when you can at aclj.org. Phone lines are open. 1-800-684-3110.

Logan Sekulow: Welcome back to Seculo. Logan Seculo, Jordan Seculo. We are going to spend the next 45 minutes or so with you. So if you want to call in, great time to call 1-800-684-3110 again. We kind of been leading with the Omar situation. We're going to give you a little update also on the Nebraska homeschool graduate going to become a firefighter. We got some big updates coming there very soon, some some positive updates and we'll see where it goes. We're joining you on something Yeah, I was actually I'm going to be in Idaho on Saturday. It's in uh about 20 minutes outside Boise and Eagle, Idaho. I think if you know where I'm talking about in Idaho, you know this kind of like a suburb. And the Idaho Family Policy Council puts on it's it's a Q&A. So it's not just me giving a speech, but it's a Q&A on top issues. They've been kind of leading the charge. If you look at uh the state legislature, the state government putting in pro-life legislation, putting in legislation to protect kids at schools. Uh so on a lot of controversial issues, but there's a lot of unity there. And then kind of explaining how is the rest of the country, how is it affecting as well. So I I'm going to be doing the Q&A. It's it's absolutely free to attend. You just have to go to their website and register. You do have to register to sign up and so you go to the it's the Idaho Family uh Policy Council. And so again, easy place to find it. It's this set. It's this Friday um early evening in Eagle, Idaho. And then I'll be there absolutely. And there's a there's time after to uh shake hands with those attendees too. So uh come come say hello if you're in the in the area again. It's about 20 25 minutes from Idaho. And I'll look up the exact make sure I'm giving the exact place to go on the website to where you can register. But again, it's absolutely free. Yeah, if someone could pull that up, we'll we'll make sure we get it linked in the comments. So again, that's on Friday. Go see Jordan now. We're still talking about the Ilhan Omar situation. But I think we need it. We've already heard from President Trump. President Trump claimed, you know, he had no advanced knowledge and then used a lot of other words in there about how horrible and terrible you know that. And then look, she's doing the same thing for him. Uh but then Vice President Vance had his statement which would maybe a little bit more diplomatic but but very interesting. Here's uh Vice President Vance just today.
Jordan Sekulow: No, look, I did not have advanced notice that her home was being raided. I I look, I I never we try to run our Department of Justice in a fair and honest way. We try to let the law follow the facts rather than creating facts just to prosecute people we don't like. And because of that, I think the president and I largely try to stay out of Department of Justice investigations and other prosecutions. Now I I do know that there are some serious allegations against Ilhan Omar. We're going to look into those. And again, if there's a real case there, we're going to follow the facts. If there's not a real case there, then we won't.
Logan Sekulow: So I mean just kind of blunt and honest and a different kind of approach obviously the President Trump but just saying we're going to you know, do what we need to do to find out if there's anything there. And if there's not, we'll move on.
Jordan Sekulow: Yep.
Logan Sekulow: That's not necessarily something you you expect to hear uh in sort of an election time and all of this happening.
Jordan Sekulow: Yep. So again, I think both statements listen, they went on the record and said we were we had we this wasn't ordered by us. We didn't know it was when it was going to happen or if it was going to happen. Uh listen, President Trump, you can go back. I'm sure you can find it with Vance too have said probably said she should be investigated. I don't think I think that's fine. I think we've all said that before. But that's not this what they're talking about with the standard. Uh they're they're refuting what she has said, which is just like Donald Trump saying they're stewing and saying, DOJ, you must go go raid her home. But what basis you have? And I think the fact is you have uh DOJ you have a a judge signed off. You have uh FBI working with the Department of Homeland Security. We know again involves immigration issues. And we don't know if it involves the secondary issue of the Somali fraud that's being investigated now. We know that's very real. We know it's billions of dollars. And it's the community she represents in uh her congressional district in Minnesota. So uh the fact that that's all going on there and she's a prominent member of that community attached to the fact that there's always been questions about her immigration status um which again, she was a kid when she came in. So it could be that she has documents that when she at her age when she came, she could have looked at and had no idea that anything to do. But as she got older, especially she had had these documents, it still does have them in her home um and and never provided them, never got things straightened out, which you could have done. I think to show if you a reminder when it happened. Um instead trying to hide it. She she's very coy about the personal life. It's never really clear. Uh she's even coy about kind of her practice of the faith of Islam. Like is is she uh really uh a sincere about this is not me questioning her religious beliefs. It's just kind of how much of this is an act for her own the the community she represents and how much of it is the the true radicalism uh that she represents as well. But I just want to point people back. This was the beginning. And it was when it was just the four of them uh in the squad, it was easy to say, you know what, that's four out of even a bunch of Democrats who who are anti-Israel saying all of this. Look what they've been able to do. It erode the Democrat Party from its basically the only issue Republicans and Democrats at least in foreign policy agreed on was supporting Israel.
Logan Sekulow: And you had Chuck Schumer is probably the leading voice for you know, Zionist.
Jordan Sekulow: You have Nancy Pelosi from 99% of her career voting to fund it, helping to fund Israel. And then one of her final votes was against funding. So I I would say the the squad has done an effective job inside the Democratic Party. Does that help the Democratic Party long-term? That that's up to voters to decide. But uh we do know now that being pro-Israel is almost and
Logan Sekulow: I'll say yeah. Yeah, it brought them a boost of life in some ways because it became such a a toxic um uh statement to be a pro-Israel Democrat. We know that we know
Jordan Sekulow: Yes, it's almost like being a pro-life maybe there used to be pro-life Democrats that became something that you no longer could be. Uh then it was uh now it's the situation with um Israel. It's like you can't if you don't stick by every one of their policy or policy changes, you are ostracized. It's starting to look like that more and more inside the Democratic Party. And listen, we've seen rumblings of it on the Republican Party not inside so much the elected officials. In fact, the handful of elected officials who took those positions about Israel all lost their primaries. Even the incumbents or they decide not to run. So uh you know, you can you can be like in Kentucky and things like that. So uh I think she she brought the attention on herself. And she's had these questions have not been clearly answered. If she's not done anything illegal, this will be all we hear about it. Then that's it.
Logan Sekulow: And that's it. That's what Vice President Vance said. You know, we're going to do this. They said it was a multiple hour raid. I mean, it took hours and hours all felt like it was
Jordan Sekulow: Unless they bring charges, you won't know anymore ever.
Logan Sekulow: Yeah, so so we'll keep you updated as things move on. But we also want to keep you updated on the work of the ACLJ as well as we head into the second half hour. And we talked to you about that homeschooler Andrew Coats who was a homeschool graduate, by the way, many years. He's in his 20s now. Uh he applied to be a a career firefighter, you know, a paid firefighter at his where he'd been volunteering for multiple years. He's a paid EMT, a certified EMT, currently getting his associates in fire science. And they said, sorry, when we said high school diploma, we didn't mean you could be homeschooled. You know, it had to be from an accredited school in our area. You couldn't be just some random homeschooler who, you know, has Christian values and these kind of things to be a firefighter. Again, something that I don't believe anyone who's been ever saved by a fireman or fire person has ever said, you know what, what high school did they go to? I want to make sure before they pick me up and throw me over their shoulder and and you know, get me out of a burning building or whatever it may be that I thought um I want to make sure that their high school degree is is really from a place that I think of as appropriate. Now thankfully, we were able to cause such an uproar. And remember this case showed up because someone tagged me in a social media post. That's how we found out about it, which is amazing. And you know, some of you have sent me new ones since then and I've pushed them to our legal team. Some we can take, obviously some we can't. Just depends on what the the case is. So always feel free to tag us on social media cuz you never know what could show up. But we were able to take it. We got to the city councils. There was an uproar in the city. They reversed the language and said, okay, now you include homeschoolers. And then at the same time uh now it didn't affect him tremendously because he didn't get his job. You know, he had to you know, move on, do other things. And the job was unavailable still to him. They changed it. They updated it. That was great. And then they decided we're going to reopen that job listing. But some things had changed again. We get back the second half hour. We'll talk to you about that as well as today. They have a city council meeting about this. I'm going to ask you with their attorneys to uh pray for them and pray for our client, pray for homeschoolers around the country. This is an important time to make sure we set a great standard to protect your homeschooled kids, homeschooled grandkids, maybe yourself or a homeschool graduate. Make sure you have a successful career moving forward. We know as homeschooling and alternative schooling is growing dramatically in the last five years. Let's protect it. Let's support it. We get back with the second half hour of Seculo. But you can do it right now at aclj.org/sign. But we're not going anywhere. So stay tuned or find us broadcasting live on aclj.org or wherever you get your podcasts.

Dr. Jay Alan Sekulow is Chief Counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), a legal and educational not-for-profit organization that focuses on constitutional law, the defense of freedoms of speech and religion, and international human rights. He is also Chief Counsel of the European Center for Law and Justice (ECLJ) based in Strasbourg, France, and the Slavic Center for Law and Justice (SCLJ) in Moscow, Russia. The ACLJ also has an affiliate office in Jerusalem, Israel.

An accomplished and respected judicial advocate, Sekulow has presented oral argument before the U.S. Supreme Court in twelve cases in defense of constitutional freedoms. Several landmark cases argued by Sekulow before the U.S. Supreme Court have become part of the legal landscape in the area of religious liberty litigation; these cases include Mergens, Lamb's Chapel, McConnell v. FEC, Operation Rescue v. National Organization for Women, and most recently Pleasant Grove City v. Summum.

In 2009, Townhall Magazine named Sekulow to its "Townhall of Fame" and recognized him as "one of the top lawyers for religious freedom in the United States." In 2007, the Chicago Tribune concluded that the ACLJ has "led the way" in Christian legal advocacy. In 2005, TIME Magazine named Sekulow as one of the "25 Most Influential Evangelicals" in America and called the ACLJ "a powerful counterweight" to the ACLU. Business Week said the ACLJ is "the leading advocacy group for religious freedom." Sekulow's work on the issue of judicial nominees, including possible vacancies at the Supreme Court, has received extensive news coverage, including a front-page story in The Wall Street Journal. In addition, The National Law Journal has twice named Sekulow one of the "100 Most Influential Lawyers" in the United States (1994, 1997). He is also among a distinguished group of attorneys known as "The Public Sector 45" named by The American Lawyer (January/February 1997). The magazine said the designation represents "45 young lawyers outside the private sector whose vision and commitment are changing lives."

Sekulow brings insight and education to listeners daily with his national call-in radio program, Jay Sekulow Live!, which is broadcast throughout the country on nearly 850 radio stations. Sekulow also hosts a weekly television program, ACLJ This Week, which tackles the tough issues of the day. He is also a popular guest on nationally televised news programs on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, CNBC, and PBS.
