PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 6, 2025--

Ventric Health, a medtech innovator enabling early detection of heart failure (HF) in a primary care setting, today announced the appointment of Christopher Abbott to the Board of Directors. Chris brings more than 25 years of experience as a senior executive in health insurance, managed care, and physician practice management to his new role with the company.

He spent 17 years with United Healthcare, accountable for all aspects of its Medicare Advantage plans in some of the company’s largest markets. He formed a national consulting firm, Transformory, where for five years he helped firms navigate the modern healthcare landscape, including developing go-to-market and payer outreach strategies. He has also spearheaded national and local health plan sponsor and payer relationships, and practice management for several large U.S. physician practice groups. His early career was spent in the U.S. Air Force, where he variously managed operations for the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base hospital and outpatient clinic, quality initiatives for one of Air Combat Command’s largest wings, and on-board operations for key international missions.

Chris joins an accomplished Board that includes former Boston Scientific and Shockwave executive Keith Dawkins, MD as Chairman, Caltech professor Mory Gharib, experienced medtech leader Ken Charhut, Matthew Tasooj, and Ventric CEO Sean Brady.

“We are delighted to integrate Chris’ rich payer experience to round out our impressive Board as we expand commercial operations for the FDA-approved Vivio System,” said Ventric Health CEO Sean Brady. “His insights will help us enhance our already-compelling value proposition that enables patients with heart failure to gain earlier access to guideline-directed medical therapy that can improve lives.”

“Vivio’s ability to detect HF early in a primary care setting is well aligned with payer initiatives to increase the quality of care while driving down costs to the healthcare system,” said Chris Abbott. “I am honored to join the Ventric Board and support broader adoption of this simple yet robust solution that benefits HF patients, clinicians, hospitals and payers alike.”

ABOUT VENTRIC HEALTH

Ventric Health is on a mission to empower earlier diagnosis of heart failure, enabling earlier intervention and better patient cardiac health. Its FDA-approved Vivio System non-invasively measures left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) to diagnose HF within a primary care environment, moving screening to a more accessible and less expensive point of care, and away from the ER and in-patient hospital setting. By doing this, the company intends to enable value-based care organizations and healthcare teams to lower costs and improve patient lives. To learn more, visit https://www.ventrichealth.com/.
