Welcome to the second week of June. It is starting to feel like summer although my kids are still finishing up school. I’m concentrating on recipes that are quick and easy for dinner are starting to feel more summery.

Something that’s perfect and quick for a weeknight is steak with chimichurri sauce. Throw some flank steaks on your grill or sear them off in a grill pan on the stove. Make the chimichurri sauce while they cook and serve with the steak. You can also put it on grilled veggies or corn as a side dish—it works on just about everything.

For dessert is a peach and blackberry crostata. Less fussy than pie, and it makes excellent use of all the gorgeous peaches showing up in grocery stores right now. Serve with vanilla ice cream for a delightful summertime dessert.
