LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar 5, 2026--

Following a fire and other serious issues, the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has launched an investigation into Flying Food Group for potential violations of its permit and the airport’s Contractor Responsibility Policy.

LAWA has formally called for the company to respond to a range of allegations over many years, punctuated most recently in Cal/OSHA complaints concerning a fire that broke out at the facility on January 22, 2026, the second in four months at the airline caterer.

This comes after Mayor Bass called for an investigation into the complaints at Flying Food Group.

In the letter, LAWA asks for a response to the incidents described in the complaints. The letter also states: “As you are no doubt aware, your Certified Service Provider License Agreement expires June 30, 2026, and the [Certified Service Provide Program] recertification process requires LAWA to review a licensee's compliance with administrative requirements as well as operational requirements of the CSPP..”

The LAWA letter continues: “Over the last several years, LAWA has received other allegations of various conditions and incidents at FFG facilities that potentially call into question FFG's trustworthiness, quality, fitness and capacity.”

Over the last several years, five different government agencies have issued citations or complaints against FFG for worker safety violations, public safety violations, failing to pay the minimum wage, and violating state employment law. Moreover, seven women came forward to allege they faced sexual harassment on the job—and three of them subsequently alleged they were retaliated against after complaining.
