Christmas can be a season filled with beauty and hope, yet for many, it also highlights grief, loss, and emotional heaviness. As this devotional reminds us, celebrations don’t look the same every year—some seasons overflow with joy, while others are marked by sorrow. Still, Scripture assures us that God meets us tenderly in our pain. He is Immanuel, God with us (Matthew 1:23), and He invites us to cast every anxiety on Him because He genuinely cares (1 Peter 5:7). Even when our hearts feel heavy, we can find lasting joy in the truth that Christ came to rescue us, redeem us, and bring the hope of eternal life. Joy may not always look like outward cheer, but it is a steady confidence anchored in the presence and love of Jesus.
