Bill Bennett

Bill Bennett's 'Morning in America' - Weekdays 6am - 9am

William J. Bennett is one of America's most important, influential and respected voices on cultural, political, and education issues.  A native of Brooklyn, New York, Bill Bennett studied philosophy at Williams College (B.A.) and the University of Texas (Ph.D.) and earned a law degree from Harvard.  He is the Washington Fellow of the Claremont Institute, Chairman and co-founder of the education company K12, Inc. and a co-director of Empower America.  He is also the chairman of Americans for Victory over Terrorism, a project dedicated to sustaining and strengthening public opinion as the war on terrorism moves forward.

During the 1980s, Dr. Bennett emerged as one of the nation's most prominent political figures.  He served as President Reagan's chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities (1981-1985) and Secretary of Education (1985-1988), and President Bush's 'drug czar' (1989-1990).  In his various roles, he was perceived -- even by his adversaries -- as a man of strong, reasoned convictions who spoke candidly, eloquently, and honestly about some of the most important issues of our time.

Bill Bennett has accomplished a rare feat: since leaving government, he has achieved an even greater impact on our national political debate.  Dr. Bennett has written for America's leading newspapers and magazines and appeared on the nation's most influential television shows. He has also written and edited 16 books, two of which -- The Book of Virtues and The Children's Book of Virtues -- rank among the most successful of the past decade. The Book of Virtues has been made into an animated series that airs on PBS in the United States and Great Britain and has been seen in over 65 countries.  Dr. Bennett's most recent book is Why We Fight: Moral Clarity and the War on Terrorism. Dr. Bennett was named by focus groups and leading analysts the 'Best Communicator of 2002,' the most well-received public commentator on the issues of 'pride, patriotism, faith, and moral conviction.”

Although he is a well-known Republican, Dr. Bennett often has crossed party lines in order to pursue important common purposes.  He has worked closely with Democratic leaders to fight the decline of popular culture and to end worldwide religious persecution, and he is the co-chairman of the Partnership for a Drug-Free America with former New York Governor Mario Cuomo.

Thanks to his writings and speeches, William Bennett has extraordinary influence on America's political and social landscape.   He, his wife Elayne, and their two sons live in Maryland.

Laura Ingraham

The Laura Ingraham Show - Weekdays 9am - Noon

Always articulate and entertaining, 'The Laura Ingraham Show' has been addicting legions of listeners since her launch into national syndication in 2001. Smart, funny, and ahead of the curve in politics and the culture, Laura's busting down the door of the 'boys only' radio club. Her show takes listeners on a wild ride through the colliding worlds of politics, the news media, and Hollywood.

Her legal, political, writing, and television background distinguishes Laura in the field of increasingly homogeneous radio syndication. Whether she's on the watch for evidence of media bias, political hypocrisy or Hollywood inanity, Laura infuses her program with a level of energy and commitment to conservative principles that grabs hold and won't let go.

In addition to hosting her own syndicated radio program, Laura is an author, frequent columnist, and television commentator. Her book The Hillary Trap, first released in June 2000, was recently re-released as an updated paperback version. Her latest book, Shut Up & Sing: How the Elites in Hollywood, Politics...and the UN are Subverting America (Regnery) is bound to be a bestseller.

Laura worked as a speechwriter in the final two years of the Reagan Administration at the White House, the Department of Transportation and the Department of Education. She went on to graduate from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was Notes Editor of the Law Review. She served as a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and then on the Supreme Court of the United States for Justice Clarence Thomas. After clerking, Laura worked as a white-collar criminal defense attorney for Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Laura is a graduate of Dartmouth College.

Smart political talk isn't just for the boys anymore. Just say no to stupid radio and get hooked on Laura. It's not just a talk show - It's an addiction.

He's been broadcasting in radio in Los Angeles since 1982. In 1994-95, he also had his own daily national television show. Dennis is an honest and fiercely independent man of reason. His opinions, intellect, and actions have touched millions of lives through his books, lectures, broadcasts, and work for human issues. The Los Angeles Times wrote, 'Dennis Prager is an amazingly gifted man and moralist whose mission in life has been crystallized: to get people obsessed with what's right and wrong.'

This long awaited book, about which he has lectured worldwide for ten years, appeared on the Los Angeles Times best seller list the week of publication. Michael Medved

Born in Philadelphia, raised in San Diego, Mr. Medved graduated with honors from Yale and then attended Yale Law School-where his classmates included Bill and Hillary Clinton. Mr. Medved is the author of eight non-fiction books, including the national bestseller What Really Happened to the Class of '65 (the basis for a popular TV series on NBC), as well as the definitive history of the White House chiefs of staff, The Shadow Presidents. His most influential-and controversial-work was a best-selling indictment of the entertainment industry, Hollywood Vs. America. England's prestigious Guardian newspaper wrote: 'Just Occasionally, a book changes the way the world thinks. Michael Medved's Hollywood Vs. America is such a book.' Most recently, Mr. Medved collaborated with his wife, Dr. Diane Medved, a clinical psychologist and author in her own right, on Saving Childhood: Protecting Our Children from the National Assault on Innocence. In October, 1998, the Wall Street Journal wrote: 'If Saving Childhood isn't an important book, I don't know what one would look like.'

Mr. Medved has been a frequent guest on all the major TV talk shows, including Larry King Live, Nightline, Oprah, David Letterman, Good Morning America and countless others. Dennis Miller

The Dennis Miller Show - Weeknights 9pm - 12am

It's been said that Miller is 'One of the premiere comedy talents in America today...' While others are blunt assessing Miller's comedic stature, Dennis himself makes a virtue of understatement, but there is nothing low key about his career.

Miller is a five-time Emmy award winner for his critically acclaimed half-hour, live talk show 'Dennis Miller Live' which had a nine year run on HBO. He also wrote and starred in the Emmy-nominated cable comedy special 'Raw Feed', his sixth such special. He was the host and executive producer of CNBC's 'Dennis Miller', a topical interview talk show featuring reasoned discourse, opinion and humor. Additionally, Miller has appeared on many politically oriented television talk shows.

He has also been cast in films, usually in dramatic roles, most notably in 1994's 'Disclosure,' 1995's 'The Net,' and 1996's 'Murder at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue .' In October 2001, HarperCollins published the fourth edition of Miller's popular rants, 'The Rant Zone,' now out in paperback. Miller's previous books, 'I Rant Therefore I Am;' 'Ranting Again' and 'The Rants' have all been New York Times best sellers. For two seasons, Miller called the plays alongside Al Michaels and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Fouts on ABC's 'Monday Night Football.' He was also the 'Weekend Update' correspondent on 'Saturday Night Live' for six years, before exiting in 1991. He has yet to appear in a show with the words, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday in the title.

Over the years, Miller has become both a public and critical favorite. The New York Times said, 'Mr. Miller is exquisitely attuned to contemporary foibles...his material can be scathing, his delivery low key...Mr. Miller reaches a bit farther than most comedians for the scorching comment... this smart aleck has an uncommonly sharp eye...' and The Hollywood Reporter called his most recent special, 'an hour of topical, scathing brilliance that helps cement Miller's status as the Lenny Bruce of the new millennium...the most cerebral, astute and clever standup ever to put mouth to microphone.'

Michael Savage

The Savage Nation - Weeknights 12am - 3am

'I guess people love my show because of my hard edge combined with humor and education,' he says. 'Those who listen to me say they hear a bit of Plato, Henry Miller, Jack Kerouac, Moses, Jesus, and Frankenstein. I pull many of my life experiences, including that of father, son, husband, brother, ice cream factory worker, busboy, lifeguard, writer, scientist, and my huge library of books.' Listeners also hear top-flight guests and, in keeping with the fact that talk hosts attract the audience they deserve, listeners hear literate callers with intelligence, wit, and energy.

An independent-minded individualist, Michael Savage fits no stereotype. He attacks big government and liberal media bias, but champions the environment and animal rights. Trained as a scientist, he holds Master's degrees in medical botany and medical anthropology and earned his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in Epidemiology and Nutrition Science. Along with his book The Savage Nation and CD Best of The Savage Nation, he is author of the book 'Herbs That Heal' and 17 other books.

Savage created the phrase 'Compassionate Conservative' in 1994. Savage has used this concept in his radio program, as the title of his book, and in conducting the first of four hugely successful Compassionate Conservative Conventions bearing that name in 1995. Savage has consistently drawn sold-out audiences to hear him live. For Savage, these words describe a 'firewall of balance' that limits how far to the right his opinions go.

The word Compassion means 'with feeling,' and that's the magnetic attraction Michael Savage has proven he has by pulling top numbers in one of America's biggest trend-setting markets. He knows how to explore issues, entertain, and stimulate!

Mike Gallagher

The Mike Gallagher Show - Weeknights 3am - 6am

Mike Gallagher's road to becoming one of America's fastest-growing nationally syndicated radio talk show hosts began in 1978 as a 17-year-old high school senior in Dayton, Ohio. Taking a tour of his hometown talk radio station, WAVI, Mike saw a memo on the bulletin board stating that the station was in search of a young talk host. Figuring he had to be one of the leading contenders based on his age, he marched into the program director's office and announced that he was the man for the job. That night, he was on the air and within a week he had his first full-time stint in broadcasting.

Mike's talk radio career has taken him from Dayton, Ohio to WFBC Radio in Greenville, South Carolina where his ratings and revenue success led to his eventual promotion to station manager. From there, he became the afternoon drive-time leader in Albany, New York on upstate powerhouse WGY. From Albany, it was just a two and a half hour drive south to the nation's number-one market, New York City, where Mike enjoyed a two year run as morning drive talk host on the nation's most listened-to talk station, WABC.

When the owner of Mike's former employer in Albany, John Dame, approached him about the opportunity for national syndication, Mike jumped right in, forming Dame-Gallagher Networks, L.LC. In May of 2001, SRN of Dallas Texas (Salem Radio Network) purchased Dame-Gallagher Networks. SRN's acquisition of The Mike Gallagher Show was the latest addition to the company's ever-growing stable of mainstream conservative talk hosts like Dennis Prager and Michael Medved. The Mike Gallagher Show is beamed to radio stations around the nation via satellite from state of the art studios and offices in the world-famous Empire State Building in midtown Manhattan.

Blaine Illingworth

The House Mechanic Hotline - Saturdays 8am

The House Mechanic initially began as Blaine's   home repair and remodeling company logo, as he would work in any of 9 or 10 different trades as necessary. Later, becoming physically challenged, he put down his tools and became a home inspector, using his knowledge to assist home buyers and sellers in real estate purchases. The Hotline came about several years ago as he took the next step to expand his ministry on WFIL AM 560 (which he also broadcasts on at 8am).

The purpose of the House Mechanic Hotline is 3-fold.   First and most obvious is the opportunity to help thousands of people with problems in their homes by being a source of sensible, Godly advice and knowledge that they simply could not have access to otherwise. Helping these people, saving them money and averting potentially costly mistakes which might compound their problems is a true reward unto itself.  Blaine also feels the show affords him the opportunity to give exposure to deserving ministries with whom he serves - Habitat for Humanity, Children’s United Recovery Effort (C.U.R.E.) hospitals, World Vision, The Love of Jesus Residential Center (Haiti Orphanage), and Evangelical Child and Family Services (E.C.F.S.) - to name a few! The third major effect of the Hotline is to provide support for these missions and ministries. From the beginning of the show, any funds received have been directed to these projects, providing tools, tickets, materials and such for his work overseas and here at home. Ultimately, Blaine hopes to become a missionary support worker around the world at least six months of each year - traveling to the middle of nowhere to fix broken toilets, leaky roofs, spaulling plaster or broken generators, etc. He wants to help train others in foreign countries to continue the work, giving them the beginnings of a trade, like lock-smithing or plumbing that could help provide better lives for them and their families.

For now, tune in next Saturday morning at 8AM , on NewsTalk 990AM WNTP, for the House Mechanic Hotline.   Call with your problems or questions at 1-800-560-9345, during the show and maybe he can help you, too.
